The Lucille Jordan Scholarship Fund

As a young mother, Lucille Jordan fell in love with Montessori and the Island of Nantucket. She had a vision to create a preschool on the island rooted in the Montessori Philosophy. With hard work and determination, she realized her dream when the doors to the Montessori Children’s House (MCHN) opened at the Twin Street Barn in 1978. Five years later the school moved to it’s current location on Pheasant Drive and has been nurturing children from hundreds of families for over 40 years. Many of these students have gone on to become leaders in our community and productive citizens all over the world. The Children’s House is just one of the many ways Lucille contributed to this community. In her honor, we have established the Lucille Jordan Scholarship Fund. This fund will directly benefit children who may otherwise not have been able to attend the school.
