It is our mission to inspire a love of learning and a sense of wonder by creating a nurturing, dynamic Montessori environment.

As a three year program, with children starting as early as 2 years 9 months, students and families have an opportunity to become a part of a close-knit, supportive school community.  Established over 30 years ago, MCHN now proudly has both staff and parents who are alumni of the program themselves!

MCHN was founded in 1978 by Lucille Jordan, and has been at its current location since 1982.  We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, a MA Department of Early Education and Care licensed program, and the island’s only Montessori school!
