The Montessori Children’s House of Nantucket (MCHN) is seeking a Primary Montessori Lead Teacher for Fall 2025. We are looking for a candidate who holds Montessori certification (AMS or AMI) or someone who is currently enrolled in a MACTE-approved Montessori training program and looking for their first teaching job. Candidates should have experience with children, be creative, be willing to work as part of our co-teaching team and be joyful and reliable. DEEC certification is a plus. Our program serves children from 2.9 to 6. This is a 10-month position.
Ideal candidates will have:
A Montessori Teaching Credential from an AMS or AMI-recognized training center at the Primary level.
Bachelor’s Degree
Experience leading a Primary classroom and establishing a normalized environment based on kindness and respect.
Ability to relate to and inspire students as they chose their work each day
Strong personal communication and written communication skills.
Technical skills that support recordkeeping (Google Classroom, Transparent Classroom) and parent communication.
Legally authorized to work in the United States and at least 21 years of age.
